“…we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.”
(Romans 8:37)
The reality of man is so different from the delusion of the material senses that we require a spiritual vision to see it clearly. The story of Jacob wrestling with the angel illustrates the struggle of materialism to usurp this spiritual vision, and the inevitable victory of Spirit over material errors that would separate and destroy God’s likeness. Our sermon on “Man” uncovers the spirituality of God’s likeness and explains that “[the] individuality of man is no less tangible because it is spiritual and because his life is not at the mercy of matter” (Science and Health page 317).
