Sunday Sermon - Everlasting Punishment

  • First Church of Christ, Scientist, Richardson 100 St. Lukes Drive Richardson, TX 75080 (map)

"I cried unto thee, O Lord:…Bring my soul out of prison, that I may praise thy name:"

(Psalm 142:5,7)

We see the struggle with sin all around us...and within us. Science and Health tells us in this week's sermon: "Human philosophy, ethics, and superstition afford no demonstrable divine Principle by which mortals can escape from sin; yet to escape from sin, is what the Bible demands" (page 99). The struggle with sin can seem like everlasting punishment, but there is a reliable escape from sin through the very nature of man as God creates him. As the Bible says, "The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul" (Psalm 19).
